On March 30-31, 2021 the Department organized and conducted a regional online seminar in videoconference mode on the topic “New Approaches and Practices to Counter the Illegal Movement of Dual-use Goods across the Customs Border of Ukraine”.
The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize the management staff of customs with the specifics of customs control and customs clearance of goods subject to export control and their identification.
Oleksandr Dmytrenko, Head of the Division for Control over the Movement of Military and Dual Use Goods of the Non-Tariff Regulation Directorate of the State Customs Service, reported on the current state of adaptation of regulations to modern challenges and threats, and also provided advice on how to solve practical situations for the identification of strategic goods.
Speakers from the Department of Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service were the accredited WCO experts, namely Pavlo Biletskyi, Deputy Head of the Division of Specialized Training on Counteraction to Customs Offenses and Organization of Operational and Search Activities of the Directorate of Specialized Training, Maxym Prykhodchenko, Chief State Inspector of the Division of Non-intrusive Methods of Customs Control of the Directorate of Canine Services and Viacheslav Slavinskyi, Head of the Division of Professional Selection and Foreign Language Training of the Directorate of Specialized Training.
The importance and relevance of the issues discussed was confirmed by the positive feedback from the participants.
