The 17th Global Meeting of the WCO Regional Entities took place on February 17-18, 2022. This year, the Regional Training Centers (WСO RТCs) were joined at the event by the Regional Dog Training Centers (WСO RDТCs) and Regional Intelligence Liaison Offices (WСO RILOs).
The Meeting was held in a hybrid format enabling delegates who could not travel to participate remotely via an online platform KUDO with translation into English, French and Arabic.
The agenda of the meeting outlined a number of issues for discussion:
WСO Guide to Managing Customs’ Human Capital through Crises and Beyond;
WCO Middle Management Development (MMD) Training Programme.
WСO Curriculum on Middle Management Development (MMD);
WCO Learning and Development Evaluation Tools
WСO tools and initiatives: recent developments, etc.
Following the requests from the delegates of the 16th Global Meeting, interested Regional Entities had an opportunity to share their experiences and good practices with other delegates.
Representatives of the WСO RTC / RDTC (Khmelnytsky, Ukraine) presented the latest trends in the professional training of customs officers during the pandemic, namely: use of 3D technologies in the process of professional development of the officials of the State Customs Service of Ukraine and new approaches to training сanine teams to search for narcotics, weapons and ammunition, tobacco products, currency, amber and CITES goods, including blended training. The international community praised the achievements of the WСO RTC / RDTC (Khmelnytsky, Ukraine) and reaffirmed the prospects for the development of distance training and virtual reality technologies to succeed in the new normality.
