20th Global Meeting of the Regional Entities of the World Customs Organization

On February 24-25, 2025, officials from the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (WCO RTC, WCO RDTC) participated in the 20th Global Meeting of the Regional Entities of the World Customs Organization on Institutional Development, held in a hybrid format. The event brought together approximately 90 representatives from the customs administrations of World Customs Organization (WCO) member countries to discuss key development areas and the implementation of modern approaches to customs officer training.

The event program included information on the progress of current WCO e-learning initiatives, developments and prospects for the WCO CLiKC! platform, the implementation of the WCO Distance Learning Strategy and the WCO Virtual Reality (VR) training project, a new comprehensive self-assessment tool for WCO regional customs laboratories, and sectional meetings on optimizing and enhancing the effectiveness of regional structure interaction.

During the meeting, a new WCO capacity building paradigm was presented, marking a significant step in the strategic development of customs administrations at the global level.

Within the agenda item 5 “WCO VR Training Project”, representatives of the Department prepared information on the achievements of the WCO RTC, WCO RDTC, Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine) in using virtual reality and 3D modeling in the training of officials of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

The State Customs Service of Ukraine continues to actively cooperate with the WCO in the area of capacity building and the implementation of best global practices for enhancing the professional level of its employees.
