On 13 July, 2021 the final meeting of sessions of expert consultations with the officials of the Dog Training Center of the Guardia Civil (Spain) was held by representatives of Canine Veterinary Support Division of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of Ukraine with the participation of officials of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).  

The main purpose of the event was to determine specific areas of expert assistance from the Spanish Civil Guard to the canine services of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

During the meeting the parties presented the main aspects of the practical use of sniffer dogs to detect the weapons, ammunition and explosives, as well as the procedure for keeping sniffer dogs.

The next steps in the implementation of this Programme will be a meeting with OSCE officials in order to discuss organizational issues regarding the possible arrival of Spanish colleagues on a study visit to Ukraine.
