October 29, 2025 The Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (Department) together with the National Revenue Academy of the National Revenue Administration of the Republic of Poland held a joint online event dedicated to the exchange of experience in training  K-9 teams trainers.

The grounds for participation in this event were the Memorandum on the Development of Cooperation between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the National Revenue Administration of the Republic of Poland, dated May 9, 2024, as well as the Cooperation Agreement concluded by the Department and the National Revenue Academy of the Republic of Poland, dated October 15, 2025.

The Ukrainian delegation included officials from the Department, as well as trainers and candidates for K-9 teams trainers from Kyiv, Volyn, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Odesa, and Zakarpattia Customs. The Polish side was represented by officials from the Ministry of Finance, the National Revenue Administration, the National Revenue School, and representatives of the Revenue Administration Chambers in Białystok, Kraków, and Gdańsk.

During the meeting, the participants thoroughly discussed key aspects of the functioning of service cynology, focusing on the experience of train-the-trainers: from the criteria for candidate selection to the structure and thematic content of training programs.

The results achieved lay the foundation for adapting best practices, particularly regarding the improvement of training programs for K-9 teams trainers and the expansion of the analytical capabilities of the software and information systems of both agencies.

The parties confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation and organize joint events in the future, aimed at implementing best practices for the training of K-9 teams and their trainers.
