Global commitment to enhancing customs operations through strategic partnerships

The week-long 44th Session of the Enforcement Committee of the World Customs Organization (44th Session) was held to highlight new trends, set work priorities and strengthen both international and regional cooperation. The State Customs Service of Ukraine, represented by the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service, joined the event online.

Discussions during the session covered topics such as ensuring proper tax collection, utilizing effective tools including canine teams to combat illegal drug trafficking, environmental protection, border integrity, preservation of cultural heritage, implementation of “smart” containers, combating money laundering, intellectual property rights, and more.

Issues related to increasing the capacity of the global coalition to counter the threat of synthetic drugs, climate change and related environmental issues, customs fraud, and intellectual property rights infringement were raised during the panel discussions of the 44th Session.
