On July 15, 2022, officials of the State Customs Service, the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service (hereinafter – the Department) and representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) held a joint online meeting.
In particular, the event was attended by Mr Joerg Einemann, head of the division of integrated border management, senior strategic advisors on integrated border management from Romania and Finland, and Ms Anastasiia Zavada, senior assistant on customs affairs.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the main needs of the State Customs Service regarding the organization of special and specialized training under martial law.
The representatives of the Department familiarized their European colleagues with the peculiarities of the organization of canine services in the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the procedure for using operators of cargo scanning systems.
During the meeting, issues related to the general needs of the Department in the direction of canine services and distance training for operators of cargo scanning systems were also discussed.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on cooperation and coordination of steps for further cooperation.
