On November 8, 2023, an online meeting of members who had already joined the WCO Virtual Working Group on Gender Equality and Diversity (WCO VWG on GED) and newcomers from Belgium, Sweden and Great Britain, was held. A representative of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service (Department) also joined the event.

At the meeting, the outcomes of the virtual Network for GED conference held 13 September 2023, progress of creating a pool of Recognized GED experts, the final updates of the Gender Equality Organizational Assessment Tool (GEOAT), the progress of promoting GED by the Regional Coordinating Centers in the countries of Central-West and East-South Africa were presented. In addition, the experience of the respective customs administrations of Belgium and Ethiopia was highlighted.
