SHARING EXPERIENCE IN ORGANIZING CANINE SUPPORT

Within the framework of interagency cooperation of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service (Department) continues close cooperation between the institutions on increasing the level of professional competence of officials (specialists – canine officers) with the National Academy of the State Border Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnitsky (Academy).

Thus, on September, 7, 2022 theoretical training classes on organizing, training planning and usage of service dogs in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine was conducted on the basis of the Field Centre for Ensuring the Educational Process of the Academy (Field Centre), the scientific and pedagogical staff of the canine faculty for officials of divisions (sectors) of canine support of customs who undergo special training on the subject “Initial training of canine teams of divisions (sectors) of canine support of the State Customs Service”.

In addition, specialists of the Department were given the opportunity to use the training facilities of the Field Centre to provide practical training classes for canine teams of the State Customs Service of Ukraine. One of the main goal is to improve the skills of search work with new target objects, that is another step towards conducting canine teams.

We express our sincere gratitude to the leadership of the Academy, as well as to the scientific and pedagogical staff of the canine faculty for the close cooperation within the framework of the development of service cynology.
