On September 24-25, 2024, a group of officials from anti-smuggling and customs violations units and customs posts of various customs offices underwent specialized training at the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service (Department). The training focused on the application of technical and special means in customs control. Participants represented the Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Kyiv, Chernivtsi Customs, as well as Coordination and Monitoring Customs.
During the event, participants learned about the procedures for using, maintaining, and accounting for technical means of customs control, as well as their classification. They acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills in working with various types of customs control equipment, such as:
- Technical means for operational document diagnostics;
- Non-intrusive inspection systems for goods and vehicles (scanning systems);
- Technical identification means;
- Search tools;
- Technical means for ensuring radiation safety.
Practical exercises were conducted using the premises of the Department, which includes a wide range of equipment used by customs inspectors in their work.
Participants experienced a simulated professional situation using 3D technology in virtual reality: “Conducting a vehicle inspection to identify hiding places”.
Upon completion of the training, all participants received appropriate certificates.
