Training on the Use of Modern High-Tech Mobile Scanning Systems

Modern technical means of customs control require qualified personnel for their effective utilization within the State Customs Service’s regional bodies. Mobile X-ray cargo scanning systems, in particular, ensure efficient and rapid control of goods and vehicles crossing the state border.

This advanced equipment was supplied to customs offices with the support of the USAID program from the U.S. Agency for International Development. As part of this program, a series of training sessions were conducted for operators of Rapiscan Eagle M60 mobile cargo scanning systems at the “Uzhhorod – Vyšné Nemecké” border crossing point of the Zakarpattia Customs. These sessions covered the operation of the equipment and provided training on analyzing X-ray images.

A representative from the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service participated in these events. In addition to the training programs for scanning system operators, this representative also completed “Train the Trainer” courses and was subsequently certified by Rapiscan to further train State Customs Service officials.

Ultimately, the combination of high-tech equipment and qualified personnel will ensure the high quality and efficiency of non-intrusive customs control methods within the State Customs Service!
