The Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of
Ukraine (Department) and the National Revenue School of the Republic of Poland held their second
joint online event on Tuesday, October 29, within the framework of the Memorandum of
Cooperation between the State Customs Service of Ukraine and the National Revenue
Administration of the Republic of Poland, signed in Vilnius on May 9, 2024.
This time, the Department acted as the event moderator. The participants included 28 officials from
Ukraine and Poland: canine team trainers, canine inspectors, representatives of the Department, and
the National Revenue School of the Republic of Poland.
During the online training, a constructive discussion took place on current issues related to the
organization of training and the use of canine teams by the customs authorities of both countries.

organising the training and utilization of canines by the customs authorities of both countries. In
particular, Polish colleagues, with significant experience working in the EU, shared their best
practices in the field of canine handling. For its part, the Department, on the basis of which the only
Regional Dog Training Center of the World Customs Organization in Ukraine and the ninth in the
world operates, presented the current state of canine support for the State Customs Service and its
territorial bodies.
After the event, participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and express their
opinions. The participants expressed their belief that joint efforts would contribute to strengthening
border security and the formation of a single European space.
