Ukrainian Statehood Day

There are dates that fortify nations, embody the spirit of a people, and symbolize its glorious past, present, and future.

Today, we proudly celebrate one of our newest, yet deeply historic national holidays — Ukrainian Statehood Day.

Ukrainian statehood is our shared history, one in which we grew together, fought for our independence, and achieved significant success

This holiday underscores the enduring continuity of our state’s resilience — from Kyivan Rus-Ukraine, through the Hetmanate and the Ukrainian National Republic, to independent Ukraine today. It is meant to remind us and the entire world that the history of Ukrainian statehood boasts millennia-old roots.

Today, each of us should be proud of the long, often tragic, yet instructive and significant history of our nation’s state-building, the culmination of which is modern, strong, and unconquered Ukraine.

Ukrainian Statehood Day is not merely a tribute to history; it is also a day of profound unity for all who love Ukraine, who defend it, and who build it today.
