Representatives of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of Ukraine together with officials of the Zakarpattia Customs paid a working visit to the special training canine center of the Slovak Republic. The purpose of the visit was to exchange modern best practices and increase the level of professional training of the staff of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, who is involved in the performance of official duties at the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
On October 10-12, 2021 the trip took place in the framework of the joint international project “SIBSU – Safe and Inclusive Border between Slovakia and Ukraine”.
Slovak, Ukrainian and Norwegian colleagues conducted special trainings on current trends in training sniffer dogs to detect illegal goods.
The participants of the visit observed the practical work of canine divisions during their preparation and use in real conditions on the basis of the canine training center.
The study of European best practices and best practices in the use of canine teams during the implementation of customs control brings the implementation of state customs affairs in Ukraine to the level of world standards.
