Improving the level of professional competence in the field of intellectual property rights enforcement

The Department of Non-Tariff Regulation jointly with the Department for Specialised Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, with the direct participation of the right holders of well-known trademarks and associations of right holders, launched the first of four stages of specialised training for officials of the State Customs Service and its territorial bodies on the topic “Topical Issues of Customs Operations in the Light of Changes in Legislation: in the field of Intellectual Property Rights Protection”.

The event was opened by Vladyslav Suvorov, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service, who stressed that an important component of the training is to familiarise the customs authorities of the European Union member states with the implementation of Regulation (EU) No 608/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 June 2013 on customs control over the enforcement of intellectual property rights in cooperation with the right holders of intellectual property rights.

Participation in this format provides practical training on how to promote the protection of intellectual property rights and opens up prospects for the development of this area.
