On 19-20 February, 2024, the 19th Global Meeting of the WCO Regional Bodies took place with participation about 83 member countries.
The State Customs Service of Ukraine was represented by the Department for Specialised Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service, which hosts the Regional Training Centre and the Regional Dog Training Centre of the World Customs Organisation.
The agenda included key issues such as the development of e-learning and distance learning, the use of virtual reality in training, the development of national training strategies, WCO tools and initiatives: the latest developments, etc.
Regional Bodies of the Dominican Republic, Qatar, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Japan shared their best practices on the effective functioning of institutions.
The Ukrainian side presented a report on the use of VR and 3D technologies in the training of officials of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
These innovative approaches help to improve the quality of specialised training, which is extremely important in the context of instability caused by russian aggression.
The international community has expressed its support and recognition of the achievements of the WCO Regional Training Centre and the WCO Regional Dog Training Centre in Khmelnytskyi (Ukraine).
