On October 18, 2022, under the chairmanship of the newly elected Chairperson of the WСO Virtual Group on Gender Equality and Diversity (WСO VWG), the representative of Zambia, a meeting of the WСO VWG took place, within the framework of which the exchange of experience and best practices between WСO member countries on gender issues is carried out.
The representative of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Support of the State Customs Service (Department) took part in the online meeting of the WСO VWG as a member of this group for the first time.
One of the key issues on the agenda of the meeting was the discussion and approval of the draft profile of the WCO Gender Equality and Diversity expert. The forward plans for WСO VWG’s work for 2023, the results of the annual WCO survey, information on the state of filling the second edition of the Compendium of GED in Customs (Compendium) with articles from the customs administrations of the WCO member countries (the State Customs Service of Ukraine has also been involved in developing the Compendium) were also covered during the meeting. In addition, the experience of the Customs Administration of Peru in implementation of the Program on preventing sexual harassment in the workplace was highlighted.
