At the invitation of the Regional Risks Analytics Center and within the framework of the international project “Safe and Inclusive Borders between Slovakia and Ukraine”, an expert from the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service of Ukraine took part in training of the staff of the State Customs Service on modern EU requirements in the field of external borders protection and organization of work at checkpoints.
The event took place from February 8 to 10, 2023 in the Slovak Republic.
In the course of training, a number of thematic workshops were held, which related to the following topics:
– Joint customs control at the checkpoint;
– IT technologies in the processes of customs control at the external border of the EU;
– Combating unauthorized flights across the border as a form of illegal migration and smuggling of goods.
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia, the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic, the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the State Border Service of Ukraine and Transcarpathian Customs took part in the discussion.
According to the results of the event, the officials of Ukraine and Slovakia exchanged the latest ideas, knowledge, information and experience on integrated border management.
