On September 28, 2022, the full-time stage of the special training course on search for narcotics, psychotropic substances, amber, tobacco products, weapons parts and ammunition have been graduated has been completed by six canine teams from Dnipro, Sumy, Odesa, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv and Rivne Customs at the premises of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service (hereinafter − the Department).

The event was held thanks to the financial support of the U.S. Embassy within the framework of the Program on Export Control and Security of the Border in Ukraine (EXBS).

During the training, specialists of the Department drew special attention to training of sniffer dogs to search for prohibited items and substances in loose substances, food products, people as well.

According to the results of the final exam, the canine teams of Odesa Customs (Viktor Zaloznyi with a sniffer dog Baks) got an excellent mark. The rest of the canine teams demonstrated practical and theoretical training and got good and satisfactory marks. In the end, Mrs. Halyna Potashnikova, the director of the Department, congratulated the training participants on the successful completion of their studies, wished canine inspectors not to rest on their laurels and to multiply the acquired knowledge in the process of professional activity.
