On December 12-14, 2023, at the Porubne-Siret checkpoint of the Chernivtsi Customs, a special training was held for officials of the technical means of customs control units; anti-smuggling and customs violations units; officials of customs posts of the Transcarpathian, Odesa, Rivne and Chernivtsi customs.

During the event, the participants familiarized themselves with the procedure for performing customs formalities using scanning systems and the use of canine teams of the State Customs Service during customs control. The participants gained theoretical knowledge on the nature of X-rays, the basics of radiation protection, the construction of X-ray images and the means of their interpretation. The trainees were also familiarized with methods of concealing restricted or prohibited items and examples of their detection using scanning systems and canine teams.

One of the main stages of the event was mastering practical work with scanning systems using the software product for interactive practical training of scanning system operators – Simfox and familiarization with the practical use of scanning systems and canine teams of the State Customs Service at the checkpoint to prevent the illegal movement of prohibited items.
