The representatives of the Department for Specialized Training and Canine Services of the State Customs Service took part in the workshop on Origin of the Country’s Goods, which was held in the online format of the World Customs Organization (WCO) from February 8 to 10, 2023.
The country of origin of goods is one of the key factors affecting the taxation of goods moved across the customs border. Making a decision on this issue is complicated by the existence of a differentiated regime in international trade.
Speakers at the event were heads of WCO Departments and Offices, representatives of customs services of foreign countries and international organizations, who in particular emphasized the possibility of using open sources information that is publicly available on the Internet at work.Thus, the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the International Trade Center (ITC) jointly launched a global online resource on tariffs, trade agreements and rules of origin for specific goods (available at www.findrulesoforigin.org.). The participants of the event were 330 representatives of the customs administrations, who had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the best international practices in determining the country of origin of goods, to exchange opinions on regional integration, use of free trade agreements, current projects on the development of concepts in the field of origin of goods, and also to hear answers to their questions from WCO experts.
